Fully Composed Pages
Lesson 8 of 8 Ink Sketching: Fundamentals
Bring together everything you’ve learned by creating a page full of sketches in a variety of techniques.
Reference Gathering Homework
Gather reference images in preparation for your fully composed page of sketches. Even though you’ve done other pages full of sketches by this point, this page would be designed to feel more cohesive. All the sketches should support a single theme. If you choose, you can also plan out spacing and composition for where each sketch will live on the page.
Page as Composition Homework
Create your fully composed page of sketches. Use your reference images, plan out how you want the sketches arranged, or just freestyle it. Whatever feels most natural to you is best. The main objective is to create something that feels cohesive as a single piece, despite containing various different sketches.
This is the final sketching project of the course, and it will incorporate everything you’ve learned across each lesson. Have fun, take your time, and create something awesome!
Final Presentation Homework
Digitize your sketches, either taking photos or scanning the pages. Then use the techniques Aaron demonstrated to ensure the digitized sketches match what they look like on the real page. You can also composite images together, if you want to present multiple separate sketches together in one image.
Take the time to present your work as cleanly and professionally as possible. You put in a lot of hard work to make these sketches, and they deserve to be shown off in the best possible light!
